Here’s a fun little intentional crafty check-in you could create for yourself and partner!

I had this watercolour practice handy so I decided to write down my notes on the wall to check-in if getting tossed about by the occasional turbulence.  These reminders are from the book, “Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids” by Dr. Laura Markham ((PS: I am not affiliated or paid for this article. I am posting this up with all of my love))

When a parent bestows the gift of empathy on a struggling child, that visceral connection changes everything. Empathy strengthens the relationship bond. Empathy helps the child feel understood, less alone with her pain and suffering. Empathy heals. And the experience of empathy teaches the little one about the deepest ways that humans connect, providing her with a launching pad for every future relationship”

Markham, Laura. Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids (The Peaceful Parent Series) (p. 112). Penguin Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

Seriously, this book is phenomenally helpful in guiding us towards raising resilient and emotionally intelligent children.  I have this on my Kindle Paperwhite so that I can lay with my kids at night or during naptime ~ I can read from the warmth of the soft blankets without tiring my eyes + my baby is my personal heater.  Sometimes I’ll open up to one of the highlights I have saved to set myself up for a good nights rest.  It really helps me to have a wonderful intention to sleep on and wake up with.  It also helps me not feeling grumpy when either/both of the kids wake up in the middle of the night.  I am full of love and nurturing feels.

Above in the photo are the 3 main ideas that the book shares, along with the main concepts for each section.  Though there are soooooo many golden nuggets in this book that I am full of inspiration and passion on this positive discipline, conscious parenting journey.  And not only is this book sooo~ very helpful for parents, but also for teachers and any other child care related occupations.

I could go on and on about the amazingness of this book but you’ll have to see for youself!  You are able to get a FREE sample of this book when you click on the link above so check it out.

That’s it for today.

Bliss & Bless my friends!
